i love google

Pictures: my district (Crandall, Brown, Davies, Jones), Johnny's baptism, Bill & Aggie, the scarf that I crocheted!

So, the missionary email is pretty crappy. But, they just released a new program, and it's powered by Google! It looks just like Gmail. SWEET! It doesn't crash, and there's lots more storage. Life just keeps getting better. :)
Last Wednesday we stopped by to see if Brittany Luman was going to come to YW. She said she was planning on it. We went with her and she had a great time making Valentine's Day cards and treats. She's a cute girl; really nice. We stopped by Saturday night to see if she and her mom were going to come to church and she was planning on it again. They've had missionaries before. I don't know what her interest level is in joining the church, but she seems excited about the activities. That's a start.
We taught Bill & Aggie (the old Catholic couple) the Plan of Salvation lesson on Thursday. They really enjoyed it. They have both been married twice before. Aggie is not doing so well internally. She'll get test results back tomorrow. But she told us she'd been thinking about death lately. (We went over there yesterday to tell them about transfers and they said they signed her will. She joked with us and said she didn't put us in the will. She's such a funny lady.) But when we talked about eternal families, she asked how it was going to work out since Bill was her 3rd husband. Interesting question that I really haven't thought much about. We told her that we don't know how it all works out, but we know that God knows and we're going to be happy. She was content with that. They both love us coming over and talking with them and teaching them. They've agreed with everything we've taught. There was an annoying vacuum salesman there yesterday while we were there (for 2 hours he was there!) and Bill invited him to come over and "learn how to be Mormon with us". At some point, whether it be in this life or the next, I know they'll accept the gospel. I hope I'm around for it. But if not, I'm content being a planter and a waterer. We're going to go to church with them on Saturday night and hopefully they'll come with us on Sunday.
Seeing as transfers are tomorrow, maybe I should mention something about that... :) At interviews last Monday, the zone leaders checked our area book and told us it was awesome. Then during planning on Thursday they randomly called us and told us to make sure to update the area book really well. They didn't give us a reason why. Then the possibility hit us - maybe we were being double transferred. AHH. We both freaked out a bit. I had mixed emotions. I'd like to reinvent myself as a missionary in a new area, but I do like the people here. So we started to prepare the area for new missionaries. Today we got the call. Sister Jenson is leaving, and I'm staying here. We talked to the zone leaders, and told them that I was staying and they said "They didn't tell you anything else?" We said no, so they told us we'd find out at transfers. Ahh. I don't know what that means! We can't figure it out. Maybe something changed from what they knew or maybe they're just crazy, or maybe something weird is happening. We don't know. But I'm staying and tomorrow I'll find out who my new companion is. Good thing I'm generally good with directions.
At service Friday I shared part of the Bible Dictionary entry on prayer with Tom. He said he had lots of questions. Not necessarily about our church, but about religious things. He's definitely searching. The elders tracted his street last week, but he wasn't home because he works a lot. Hopefully they'll go back and he'll let them in.
Saturday, Johnny got baptized. His wife, Erin, got baptized on January 9th. He was so excited for his baptism, it was awesome.
Sunday we met with Tehila, an orthodox Jew. She's doing a documentary on women's modesty in different religions. She told us what she was hoping to do, and we ended up talking a lot about missions, in addition to our views on modesty. She's a really nice lady and she was really curious about the things we told her and why we did certain things. We met at our church, and she had some questions about our ward and our building and stuff. Maybe this project of hers will cause her to be interested in learning about our church. She went to film school in Israel and she's been here in Bloomington for 3 years with her husband and 3 kids. We'll meet with her again probably this week, so I'll write more about it next week.
Yesterday we had lunch with Dixie and Sammy Davis. They just moved in to our ward. She joined the church 10 years ago with her husband who died 3 months later. She's been married to Sammy for 5 years now, and he's been active in the church for those 5 years but he's not a member. He's a medal of honor recipient and he is a motivational speaker so they travel a lot. They are such good people. I really like them a lot. Their house is in the middle of nowhere, and 2 miles up a dirt road, but it's gorgeous.
Well, I was going to send some pictures this time, but I'm out of time. I'll send them next week.
Take care.
